How to write your first blog post

As the owner of an Atlanta writing services company, I am often approached by friends and neighbors inquiring as to when and what they should write in their blog. This question is important because it sets the tone for your readers. Here are four items to consider when taking the big plunge.

1. What do you do? If you are a business you will want to introduce me to your company and if you are not the only person submitting content, share some background on your writer/writers. You may also want to include some photos. I highly recommend doing this on a regular basis as well, since a picture helps to build your readers trust.

2. What value will your blog bring to the reader? Will your business offer weekly tips or insight? Or do you have the kind of business that needs a story to be told? A friend of mine built her book and business on blogging about parenthood and believe me, myself and her followers are on the edge of seats for her creative content.

3 . Make a plan on what you will write about.  If you are the owner of an exclusive downtown club, readers may only want to hear about weekend happenings and drink specials. Or, maybe you are a family-owned mechanic shop and want to offer tips on the care and upkeep of your Buick. Whatever the case, get creative and be sure to give your readers a reason to return.

4. Invite feedback and comments. Most reputable free blog sites give you the option of comments, feedback and even polls for your blog. Take full advantage of this and most importantly, give your readers a way to contact you.

If you find that this is a bit too overwhelming than you may want to take advantage of a free consult with an, Atlanta writing services company such as Rapidus Media to help get you started.

why your small business should outsource

I recently won the contract for a Georgia based order fulfillment company, SBC Fulfillment. The company was seeking my writing services and recently hired my company, RapidusMedia to write newsletters and Georgia orderfulfillment related articles. This week, my focus is on their new client and new technology. The technology article involves a connector that was written for Quickbooks. This connector will also allow SBC's clients to directly link their accounting software to their fulfillment services.

Personally, for my own business, I have not made the leap to Quickbooks as of yet, but I wouldn't dare try to do my own fulfillment. I am a huge fan of outsourcing, and why not? Outsourcing allows you to let someone else take on the headache of what could become a costly and a BIG liability to your business. Not only that, but I have no desire to try and learn a new skill such as outsourcing. Anymore, than I would want someone else to internally write or produce their own videos.
